This qualification has been built for a wide range of learners. It is particularly well suited to clinical technicians already working in hair transplant, aesthetic, dermatology or surgical clinics who wish to gain formal recognition and advance their skills; healthcare assistants and surgical support staff seeking a structured entry route into hair restoration; operating theatre and medical assistants involved in transplant procedures; and aspiring individuals pursuing a career as a hair transplant technician. It is also relevant to aesthetic practitioners who wish to expand their service offering into hair restoration, and to international learners seeking a recognised qualification for career progression in global markets.
You will develop hands-on competence across the full technician pathway, from scalp science, trichoscopy and patient consultation through to graft handling, implantation technique, theatre management, complication management and regenerative therapies. Training is designed under the supervision of an ISHRS Fellow and ABHRS-certified surgeon.
No. This course is open to everyone aged 18 and above, regardless of background. No prior medical or surgical qualification is required. A background in healthcare or aesthetics is helpful but not essential.
Both. Theory is delivered online at your own pace. Hands-on practical training takes place in person over three intensive days, including supervised sessions and live model demonstrations. Both elements must be completed to qualify.
Through four components: a written knowledge examination, a practical competency assessment, case-based clinical scenarios, and a clinical logbook completed across the three training days.
