By delving into the underlying mechanisms of hair growth and maintenance, students will gain a solid foundation to further explore trichology and its applications.

*Classifications & Differential Diagnoses (Part 1)
*Hair Growth Cycle, and Hair Disorders and Classifications & Differential Diagnoses (Part 2)
*Hormonal Regulation of Hair Physiology (Investigations based on clinical assessment)
*Nutritional and Environmental Factors and Hair Health
*Dermoscopy in Hair and Scalp Analysis (Trichoscopy)
On completion of this module, students will be able to:
1. Critically apply a systematic knowledge of the most current evidence and practice in the complex processes involved in hair physiology, employing critical thinking skills to examine the interplay between cellular mechanisms, hormonal regulation, and environmental factors.
2. Critically evaluate emerging approaches to the use of dermoscopy demonstrating the ability to apply theoretical concepts to practical scenarios in trichology practice.
Module 2: Alopecia
Aim of the module:
The aim of this module is to enable students to develop a comprehensive understanding of alopecia, its diverse aetiology, and its impact on individuals. By studying the underlying mechanisms and exploring available treatment options, students will be equipped to critically evaluate and contribute to the field of trichology,

1. Critically apply a systematic knowledge of the most current evidence and practice in alopecia and critically evaluate emerging approaches to the treatment of the condition.
2. Construct management strategies for the investigation and clinical management of presentations of alopecia to strategically enhance team performance in complex situations.
Module 3: Hirsutism
Aim of the module:
The aim of this module is to provide students with an in-depth understanding of hirsutism, including its underlying causes and the diagnostic challenges associated with this condition. By examining therapeutic approaches and considering the psychosocial impact of hirsutism, students will develop the knowledge and skills necessary to address this condition within the field of trichology.

*Aetiology and Pathogenesis of Hirsutism
*Diagnostic Evaluation of Hirsutism (Hypertrichosis vs Hirsutism)
*Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
*Other Important causes of Hirsutism

1. Critically evaluate the diagnostic approaches for hirsutism, including laboratory tests, imaging techniques, and clinical assessment, to make accurate diagnoses.
2. Critically apply the knowledge and synthesise the evidence into management strategies for patients presenting with hirsutism including the psychological impact on individuals.
